What is the difference between a Workspace subscription and Premium for Records?
✓ EnergyID for BusinessAt EnergyID, we distinguish between two levels: your organization’s environment (the Workspace) and the internal or external records linked to it. Here we explain how these two levels are connected.
The basic principle
As a Workspace administrator, you manage one or more records within your organization. This can be your own portfolio (e.g. your organization’s buildings or sites), and/or records of external users. In the latter case, for example, you may be an energy supplier, renewable energy cooperative, or installer that offers additional features to customers or members through EnergyID. In both cases, the same principles apply:
- Workspace level (your organization): You choose a Basic, Standard, or Advanced subscription. This determines which management tools, integrations, and reports are available to your organization, as well as which extra features are activated in the linked records.
- Record level (the individual record): A record does not have Basic/Standard/Advanced. It is either Free or Premium. As soon as a record is linked to your Workspace — as your own (internal) record or as an external user’s record — it automatically becomes Premium. Any additional features your organization offers are then also unlocked.
What does 'Premium' mean for the record?
Every record linked to your Workspace automatically gets 'Premium' status. This unlocks additional capabilities within that specific record:
In-depth insights and analyses
- High resolution: Insight into consumption data per quarter-hour instead of daily graphs.
- Peak power and capacity: Insight into peak power over the past months.
- Baseload analysis: Insight into continuous consumption and its impact on total consumption.
- Cost analysis: Insight into energy costs (provided tariff information is available).
Useful extras
- Unlimited number of meters: The standard limit of 10 meters per record is fully removed.
- Dashboards: Insight into key energy data through clear, visual tiles and tailored graphs.
- Follow-up: Visually track the results of energy-saving measures.
- Meter readings via QR code: Submit meter readings quickly by scanning a QR code.
- Automatic summary: A monthly overview of the most important energy data by email.
Unlock even more extras through the selected Workspace subscription
Your Workspace subscription determines which additional features are available in the linked record.
Available from Standard:
- Collective energy planner: Plan and optimize electricity consumption based on forecasts and signals from the energy community or service provider.
- Shared time series: Use additional data such as dynamic tariffs or collective production data in dashboards or analyses.
- Collective self-consumption scorecard: Insight into the contribution to collective self-consumption within the energy community (coming soon).
- Solar power settlement: Insight into electricity that is consumed directly from the local PV installation (PPA).

Frequently asked questions
Can I try Standard or Advanced on one specific record?
No, that is not possible. A Workspace subscription always applies to the entire organization and all records linked to it. Records do not have a 'Standard' or 'Advanced' tier; in communication toward the end user, we only refer to 'Free' or 'Premium'. This clear choice makes communication to end users much simpler and easier for your organization to manage.
I only manage my own portfolio and have no external users — is my record still Premium?
Yes. Whether a record is internal or external makes no difference for Premium status: as soon as it is managed within your Workspace, it is automatically Premium — with the same extras described above.
