My meter has been replaced, now what?
When the utility company replaces your old gas, electricity or water meter, you need to follow a few steps to make sure your measurement data in EnergyID is processed correctly.
-
Enter the last meter reading of your old meter
If you do not know the last meter reading, you can probably find it on the next invoice of your supplier.
- Open your record and go to Meters.
- Click on the name of your old meter.
- Click New meter reading.
- Enter the date and value of the final meter reading.
- Click Save.
-
Archive your old meter
- Open your record and go to Meters.
- Click on the name of your old meter.
- Click on the Properties tab.
- Change the name of the meter, for example from "Electricity" to "Electricity (old)". This step is optional.
- If you no longer wish to see the meter in the overview, turn off Show meter in the overview.
- Click Save.
IMPORTANT
Archiving or hiding a meter does not mean that the measurement data disappears from our system.
The meter will still be included in the reports, and your reference consumption - necessary to quantify your savings - will still be calculated.
-
Add the new meter to your record
If your old gas/electricity meter was replaced by a digital meter, search the App Directory for a relevant integration.
If your new meter is still analogue, or an automated connection with EnergyID is not possible, then create a new manual meter.
Add a manual meter to your record
-
Enter the initial meter reading of your new meter, unless the measuring data is automatically delivered via an app.
